Greetings from Chicago!
After a long morning, a short drive, and a long wait in line, the Chicago Creation Convention is under way and it is off to a great start!
I’m pleased to say that there seems to be an increased international presence at this year’s Chicago Con. I’ve heard French, British accents, and at least one other language I cannot identify!
The convention itself is growing too! Instead of one big screen, Creation has put up TWO! One on each side of the stage! Also, next year the Convention is moving to a bigger venue to accommodate more fans! If this doesn’t prove that the Stargate fandom is still alive and kicking, I don’t know what does!
Guests today included Gary Jones and Connor Trinneer.
Gary had little new to tell us – he did not say if he has been asked to be on Stargate Universe again beyond the Pilot episode, and knowing Gary, I’m sure he would have mentioned it!
In Gary’s personal news, he told us that he is writing a book titled Not Savvy to the Process, which will be a collection of his hilarious stories!
He told us about how he got his name – both on the show and in real life! – and about his favorite SG-1 episode. Those details and more are soon to come!
Connor joked that he would be on Supernatural – a show he has never watched! – and talked about theater acting, audiobooks, and being a true Washingtonian.
When looking for Stargate actors on other shows, look for Connor on the next episode of the Closer! Connor has a small but no doubt pivotal role – one he actually fired his manager for roping him into – and Connor is convinced he will be seen for no more than 3 minutes! WormholeRiders will be watching!
The long day ended with Starhole SG-1.5, featuring Gary Jones and Dean Haglund of X-Files fame. It’s a crazy improvised Stargate episode where, guess what, Walter Harriman gets to save the day! . . . sort of . . .
Tomorrow starts off at 11:00am with Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping! Also, RadioStar will be making her Stargate convention debut, and will share her experience with you as a Stargate Convention virgin!
Keep an eye on WormholeRiders for breaking news regarding SGU! After all, Michael has been signed for a second guest appearance! Will he be allowed to give any details or will he have been sworn to silence? We shall see!
