SYFY PROMOTES DANA ORTIZ TO VICE PRESIDENT, BRAND MARKETING
NEW YORK – April 21, 2010 – Syfy has promoted Dana Ortiz to Vice President, Brand Marketing, it was announced today by Blake Callaway, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Brand and Strategic, to whom she will report. Ortiz has played a key role in numerous multi-platform campaigns, most notably Eureka, Tin Man, Warehouse 13 and Battlestar Galactica, along with pioneering digital marketing initiatives.In making the announcement, Callaway said: “During her nine years as a valuable member of the team, Dana?s creativity and insights have contributed to the success of virtually every aspect of the Syfy brand, keeping innovation and imagination at the heart of our marketing efforts.”
In her new role, which is effective immediately, Ortiz oversees all off channel marketing, events and promotions as well as overseeing the on-air marketing team. She is based in Syfy’s New York office.
Previously she was Director, Off Air Marketing and Promotions, where her duties included leading her team in developing digital strategies and platforms such as Syfy’s mobile portfolio, digital press campaigns and groundbreaking Social Media initiatives. These included the first ever Twitter campaign to support a television show, Eureka, with the @_S_A_R_A_H campaign.
Ortiz joined Syfy in 1996 in Corporate Communications, before assuming additional management rolls in Marketing Operations and Affiliate Marketing.

SYFY DIGITAL PROMOTES SHARA ZOLL TO VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS, SYFY.COM
NEW YORK – April 21, 2010
Syfy Digital has promoted Shara Zoll to Vice President, Operations, Syfy.com, it was announced today by Craig Engler, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Syfy Digital, to whom she will report.
Said Engler: “Shara has done an amazing job for us over the past eight years, recently overseeing the relaunch of Scifi.com to Syfy.com, as well as the addition of our gaming site and major upgrades to our blog network. As we continue to build our digital presence, she?ll play a key role in helping us develop and implement our technical strategy, as well as serving as the digital liaison to the many international versions of Syfy.”
Based in Syfy’s New York office, Zoll will oversee project management for web, broadband and mobile operations, taking responsibility for the overall web serving and infrastructure systems? health of the Syfy.com network. Her new role will include technical strategy, support, development and new deployments for Syfy.com and its portfolio of offerings including DVICE, FIDGIT, SCI FI WIRE and Game Center.
Prior to joining Syfy in 2002 as Director of Project Management, Zoll served as Senior Project Manager for New York Times Digital, PR Newswire and Scientific American.
Zoll graduated from the University of Chicago with a Masters in Linguistics. She holds a third degree black belt in karate.
