WormholeRiders would like to congratulate Amanda Tapping and the entire cast and crew of Sanctuary on their Emmy nomination! Sanctuary has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series.
For those of you who don’t know, Sanctuary is the first North American series to be filmed entirely using a RED One camera. What’s a RED One camera? Well it’s an entirely digital camera that has a resolution far beyond that of the current high definition cameras! The cool thing about this camera is that everything on it, the hardware, the software, handling accessories, everything on this camera can be updated. It’s this amazing piece of technology that allows Sanctuary to film almost entirely in front of a green screen allowing the sets to be inserted later via CGI. Pretty sweet huh?
Sanctuary’s Season 2 will premiere on SyFy Friday, October 9th at 10/9c.
For those of you who can’t wait until October you can head to the stores on September 15th and pick up the Sanctuary:The Complete First Season. These four DVDs contain not only the first 13 episodes but over two hours of bonus features, commentaries on all of the episodes, behind-the-scenes featurettes and much much more! We’ve got our copies reserved. Do you?
Later Gators!
